DIY Stain Cleaning Tips

Wine, Tea or Coffee stains

If you spill a wine, tea or coffee onto your carpet the key is to apply pressure to the stain using a clean cloth, the more pressure you apply the better the result. Don’t be tempted to rub the stain as this will produce heat and cause the stain to spread. Once all the liquid has been absorbed into the cloth use a damp clean cloth and again apply pressure to ensure you have abstracted as much as the stain as possible.

Candle wax

Candle wax can be very difficult to remove but if you are going to attempt to remove the stain yourself I recommend simply placing a brown paper bag on top of the stain, with a hot iron go over the stain and you will see the wax being absorbed into the bag. Be careful though not to leave the iron in the same spot on the brown paper bag for too long.
